What is the Davis Adventure Society?
The Davis Adventure Society is the Davis Chapter of Navigators USA, an all-gender, all-orientation, secular outdoor movement that starts with youths but includes entire families and the greater community. We value nature, inclusion and community and our chapter is focused on promoting leadership, diversity, cooperation and service through developing skills, playing games, and doing amazing outdoor adventures and iconic trips. Individuals and families are truly welcome – with DAS families and communities adventure together!
To accomplish this, participants under 11 participate with family supervision and are considered junior navigators, while 11 and up are senior navigators who learn to take on increasing leadership within the organization. We already have backpacking, paddle boarding, climbing and ropes courses under our belts and we have more amazing trips planned for the upcoming year including whitewater rafting weekends, mountain biking, snowshoeing, paddle camping and culminating next summer with a ten-day high adventure trip in Alaska where we will be sea kayaking, ice climbing, mountaineering and rock climbing.
The goal is for us to build a community of thoughtful, caring adventure enthusiasts!
